The city of Murphysboro was founded on March 4, 1867. It is located in Jackson County, Illinois and has a population of approximately 9,500 people. It is the home of the Apple Festival (the regions largest family friendly downtown festival), the head of the Shawnee Wine Trail and headquarters to the world famous 17th Street Bar & Grill.
